Forsyth Fraudulent Genealogy 2.0

Question

Almost all trace of the painstakingly documented true history of the self-styled Viscount de Fronsac has been silently deleted by the PM, along with my explanatory note. Additions had been made because a respected genealogist had reached out to me to curtail further redistribution of false genealogies written by Forsyth (and redistributed by many since). Frederick Gilman Forsyth's fabricated name has also been restored. This does not seem to serve the interests of truth in genealogy. What to do?

Eek! Conveniently enough for the purpose of restoring the content, his entire deletion occurred in just one edit called "Profile cleanup"

As mentioned, all of that 'bio' is still there.  I removed it as I thought most of the comments about him need to be on Wikitree but not in his profile that most folks won't see.  Still workin' on that as well as better entries into his profile.

Further, I wasn't too pleased that all of those additions occurred without any collaboration ... they just popped up ... grrrr.

I can see how that page might have offended someone who is identified as a 6th cousins four times removed of Frederick Forsyth. The content needs to be restored (currently the profile is essentially blank), but the discussion of his fraud should not be the entire biography; it should be embedded in a more typical genealogical biography.

I'm sorry, but that seems unsupported as the deletions were all factual additions and sourced, yet you have deleted the sources.

You have also restored his fabricated name, so it all seems more of the "grrrr" than any "better entries" at play. I know his false genealogies have laid waste to countless hours of my time, so I may have a grrrr to add of my own in revealing your 6th cousin's frauds.

I leave it to the G2G crowd to assess facts, including those removed.

I've understood the WikiTree collaboration etiquette to mean that we generally add to the existing content -- we don't delete nonduplicated substantive content unless and until we are demonstrating that it was wrong and replacing it with new validated content.
