I am searching for a Benjamin Adams, born 18 Feb 1822 in possibly Baltimore or Prince Georges, Maryland, United States. He died 25 Jun 1891. I have been unable to determine his parents names or find any of his siblings. He apparently moved west in or around the age of 18 for what reason I do not know. He married in Indiana in 1841 to a woman named Sarah Cardwell from Kentucky. At some point they moved to Iowa and raised a family. This part of his life is documented through census records.
My grandmother always claimed she was a descendant of John Quincy Adams. But without determining Benjamin's parents, I can neither prove or disprove this claim. Benjamin is my brickwall relative. Adding to the challenge is the commonality of his name. Benjamin had the following children:
