Should all my ancestors and family have the "SKIP" box marked on the GEDCOM Compare Report?

Did these people all have the "skip" box marked when you opened the Gedcompare report? If so, chances are good that they lacked birth and death dates. It's impossible to import a profile as part of a Gedcom unless it has at least one of those dates.

If that's the case, you have two options:

  1. Go back to the software or website that you used to create the gedcom, add dates to your relatives' pages there, and create a new gedcom to import, or
  2. Enter the profiles manually -- like you've already done for some of your family members.

Quite a few members would tell you that the best choice is to enter profiles manually.
