Alasdair Mor and the Kinlochmoidart MacDonalds

Alasdair Mor Mac Aonghais 'ic Alasdair is mentioned on page 370 of J L MacDougall's History of Inverness County, Nova Scotia as being of the Kinlochmoidart MacDonalds. He was born around 1770 in Scotland.

Looking at the Kinlochmoidart MacDonalds in The Clan Donald (pages 298-308) it is not clear where exactly he fits in. Perhaps he is from Ranald MacDonald III of Kinlochmoidart (MacDonald-2999) through his son Alastair (MacDonald-3044), who emigrated to America, and a subsequent inferred son, Angus?
