How many Nicholas Fiskes were there ?

Question

In trying to sort out the confusion over early Fiskes of Laxfield, I find at least 2 Nicholas Fiskes;- Nicholas Fiske, christened at Framlingham 31 July 1575, wed Judith Reade, and died 1658. And;- Nicholas Fiske, born 1513 Laxfield, wed Joanne Crispe, and died in 1569. O.K., so 2, but then it gets tricky when you seek their fathers. Depending upon the source, it could be Simon Fiske, (Fiske-181) or Mathew, (Fiske-853, or Nathan, son of William, son of Thomas, son of William, as stated in the Heralds book of Middlesex. Are there any more contenders ?

He  went to Benet's Hall in Oxford but can't find an entry in Oxoniensis for him.http://www.british-history.ac.uk/no-series/london-physicians/1550-1640/fiske-nicholas

Dictionary of National Biography says

"Fiske, Nicholas (1579–1659), astrologer and medical practitioner, was born on 22 July 1579 at Stadhaugh, in the parish of Laxfield, Suffolk, the oldest surviving son of Matthew and Elizabeth Fiske and from a long-established landed family. Though well educated, he chose to study astrology and physic at home instead of going to university. He was described as a ‘licentiate in physick’ and he practised medicine at Colchester (though he is not recorded in the roll of the College of Physicians), where he became well acquainted with the physician William Gilbert, author of De magnete (1600). He later described himself as ‘iatromathematicus’, which suggests that he put his astrological skills to use in the practice of medicine"..." Fiske enjoyed substantial receipts from his medical and astrological practice, which he kept up for sixty years, and a rental income of £100 a year from his property in Suffolk. Gadbury records, however, that he died relatively poor, having lost most of his wealth through the malice of his enemies. He died in London ‘of a lingering Consumption’ (Gadbury, Collectio, 128) on 7 February 1659 and was buried at St Paul's Church, Covent Garden, on 9 February. His younger son Matthew was also a well-known astrologer."

NB There is an extant commonplace book written by him  in the British Library  (at least it is by a Nicholas Fiske physician but dated c.1660) http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/N13877614  It's obviously not something easy to access. I've used  two such books from people of the same era and both have a lot of family information  and if I were really pursuing information on him, that's what I would try to access;but obviously if you can't visit the BL, it would cost a lot to get it digitised (if indeed possible)

I am just trying to gather information, not to meddle with anyone's tree, but simply to supply a finding aid. There are lots of "sources", but they all seem to contradict each other, and they can't all be right.
