Changing the "half" after sibling names when they are not half but full.

Question

My name is Linda Payne Kitchens and I noticed that me and my siblings have the word "half" after our names. We are not half sisters and brothers. How do I get that changed?

The ones you have created need to be merged with each other and that will begin the healing process.  I've proposed a few merges covering several generations and once those are sorted then the situation can be re-evaluated.  From the drop-down menu under FIND, there is a choice of PENDING MERGES and if you click that and then MERGES there is a PENDING MERGES WAITING for ACTION by ME.  See if you can work those and then return here a let us know how it's going with that.  Good luck!

I think I was successful but I now have found a profile of my grandmother managed by someone else and it doesn't allow me to merge or edit incorrect information. They are not responding to my requests. What else can I do?

The issue is because there are three different profiles representing your mother and one of your siblings is linked to one of them:

• Edith (Meredith) Payne (Meredith-2806)
• Edith (Meredith) Payne (Meredith-2807)
• Edith (Meredith) Payne (Meredith-2816)

I proposed their merge.

After completing the merges the [half] will disappear.

I think you will find this pretty easy to fix. Select the name of the person you want toadit.  Go to the edit tab. On the right side, you will see edit mother or edit father. You should be able to fix it from there. Let me know if you need more detail. I would be happy to help.

All of you need to have the same parents in order to not display as half siblings.  So double-check to make sure that's the case.  Then that notice will disappear.
