I have quite a bit of information for several generations before and after Alford but not much on him or his siblings and their generation.
His father was Amos Wightman (1762-1814) who was born in Norwich, New London Co., CT and died in Columbia, Herkimer Co., New York. He inherited land there from his father Dea. Valentine Wightman.
Mother was Lucretia Whipple (abt. 1762-?).
Siblings were Isaac Wightman (1790-?), Amos Wightman (1792-1813) who was probably a seaman in the War of 1812,
Susannah Wightman Wager (abt. 1794-?), William(?-?), Clarissa Wightman Cone (1800-1888), Ora (?-?) and Amanda (?-?).
Alford was married to a woman who was married three times- first to a Crandall, then Alford and then a Dodge. Five Crandall children: James, William, Lansen, Emily and Rachel; two Wightman children: Amos (1834-1923) and Amanda (?-?) who married a Nelson Young.
Amanda and Nelson had three children: Frank, Amos and William.
The younger Amos, Alford's son, was born in Amboy, Onodaga Co., NY and he is listed living with Amanda in the 1860.

Trying to find information for where and when he and family moved from Connecticutt to upstate New York and where he and the family are buried. Any help would be appreciated.
