Searching for info on Joseph and Amelia Sayers (Seguin/Pinsonneault)

+4 votes
Joseph Seguin and Amelia "Minnie" Pinsoneault were from Quebec and married there before relocating to NYS  near or to Watertown, in the County of Jefferson. At some point they changed their surname to SAYERS from Seguin. They had several children, one of whom was my maternal grandmother, Helena Marie, born Seguin / (on Baptismal Certificate) and then changed to Sayers. Some of the children of Joseph and Amelia used different spellings such as Sayer, Sayre and Saur, Saure. My Grandmother , born helena went by the name Helen. She had a sister Lena, and brothers Francis and well as a few more. There is a record of marriage between Fred and Emma Flagg in August 30,1913. in Jefferson NY. which identifies both Jeseph and Amelia as the parents of Fred Sayers. I do not know the birth dates of Joseph or Amelia but I know my grandmother Helen waas born on june 10, 1890, I would be very grateful for any help trying to find info on Joseph Seguin and Amelia Pinsoneault (Sayers) from Quebec.

I added a number of records to her profile. You have her husband's profile set to private so I can not add any records for him.

My great grandfather C Herman Sayers would have been Helen's brother.  His baptism paper and marriage certificate also shows Sayers (Seguin) and he was born in Jefferson County, NY.  At one point, someone had a copy of Herman Sayers' obituary attached to their family tree in as the brother of one of their relatives and they traced the lineage back to Jean-Baptist Seguin dit Laeroute and Genevieve Barbeau dit Boisdore.  They settled in Chambly, Quebec emigrating from Saint-Aubin-en-Bray, France.
