Can we change how g2g displays last name?

Currently, when a g2g question is asked about a person's profile, it uses the Current Last Name field. I'd like it to use either Last Name at Birth or concatenate First+LNAB+CLN.

This is mostly problematic when asking questions about profiles of married women. Example:

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/432785/is-agnes-wylley-a-magna-carta-descendant

The link is displayed with the name she died with. In this particular case, she married her last husband late in life; they had no children, and --  as is most often the case with such g2g queries -- the topic is about her origins.

Seeing her displayed this way is such a disconnect. I've always found it very frustrating to see women's names displayed this way, and would like to request that the g2g display of linked profiles include their LNAB, not their CLN.

Pros and cons, please?

Thanks.

Good idea Jillaine.
This would be a good improvement.  I see pros, no cons.
I too find this disconcerting. I often wonder if I'm on the right question.

Hi Jillaine,

I think it's clear that this would be an improvement, and it shouldn't be too hard technically. We'll put it on the to-do list.

Thanks!

I have no objections.

In UK many people end up being known by a different name, see the Prime ministers of Great Britain, or e.g. Planteganet Palliser became Duke of Omnium, John Buchan became LordTweedsmuir and Sandy Arbuthnot who became Lord Clanroyden or many Baronets and others who adopted a territorial designation (e.g. some Roses became Roses of Kilravock, Grants became Grants of Rothiemurchus, Nairnes became Nairnes of Drumkilbo, etc?).

Most of these people will end up with a different CLN than their LNAB.

It would be vastly easier if the full name were to be shown so we get to see prefix, first name, middle name, nickname, LNAB, CLN, and Suffix.

A similar topic was discussed about the Watch list.  I agree the LNAB should be included in any display.   In the mean time you need to give that in your question.   At least that way people will have both names.

Great idea, Jillaine. It would be especially helpful when a woman had many marriages, such as occurred in Colonial America. sorting out the husbands can get to be a real pain if there aren't dates to go along with the marriages.
