Shared Photo: Uneeta Stephenson

This is a photo of Uneeta Stephenson Perkins,daughter of Samuel John Robert Stephenson and his wife Elizabeth Betty Smith. She was born on October 4,1901 in Delta County,Texas.She married Dewey Lee Perkins in 1918 in Commerce,Hunt County,Texas. Dewey Perkins was a brother of my mother Grace Lou Perkins Stephenson. My mother adored Uneeta and thought she was beautiful,but she was biased since Uneeta had married her brother. My mother remembered riding in a wagon with Uneeta when she was a child and remembered Uneeta referring to her husband as her "Dewte man."

Uneeta Stephenson and her infant died of blood poisoning on November 2,1920,and were buried together in the Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce,Hunt County,Texas.

Thanks for sharing the photo and story about Uneeta. I don't think your mother was biased at all - she really is beautiful and looks so sweet and innocent in this picture.  How sad that she died at such a young age!  I just had to look her up on Find A Grave and leave a note on her memorial.
