Trying to find the father or other relatives of Isham McDaniel who lived in Marion County, SC until his death in abt. 1860.  He was married to Mary Watson (b. 1800 d. 1870) and had 8 children:  Flora Effie McDaniel McInnis (John), Malissa McDaniel Davis (Henry), Mary McDonald Davis (John), Randal McDaniel, Isham McDaniel, Mark McDaniel, Neill McDaniel and Catherine McDaniel Jackson (Quinnie).

Can't find anyone in the area during that time who appears to be related although there are a number of McDaniel families.  Some of the children of Isham lived in Robeson County, NC which is right across the state line from their home near what is now Dillon SC.

You need to contact me about this person. I think we are a part of this larger family. Kathy Jo Bryant

My mom is a McDaniels, from Latta. Gale, Billy, Pat, Jack, Ellis, Cindy, and Marshall were the kids in her family. Eunice Suggs and Atha McDaniels was their dad, and his dad was Frederick(sp?) McDaniels. I got several Several of Atha's siblings and aunts/uncles. Think we might be part of the same family?

*After talking to my mom, they are actually from Floyd (Gallivants Ferry) in Horry County. They moved to Latta when my mom was a child.*
Hi Woody,

Thanks for contacting me. I am still not sure if your family is related to my McDonald/McDaniel family. iIdo not recognize any of your names. My McDonald ancestor has been Y-DNA tested, to this would be something a person would need to do, if they want to see if we are related. Take care, Kathy Jo Bryant
Kathy, Saw your post regarding Isham McDaniel/Mary Watson family in Marion (Dillon) S.C. and Robeson, N.C. I'm researching my daugher in laws family. Isham & Mary McDaniel are her 4th ggrandparents. 3rd grandfather is Marcus "Mark" McDaniel, 2nd ggrandfather is Watson McDaniel, GG is Virgie Mae McDaniel who married John Henry Wallace. Her grandfather is John Watson Wallace, mother Bettie Jean Wallace. Much of her family still lives in North & South Carolina. Don't have much info regarding Isham and his parents. Thanks D. Allert
Hi D,

Thanks for contacting me in regard to your daughter-in-law's McDaniel family. The question I would ask you is this: Is there a living male who carries the McDaniel surname in your DIL's family? If there is, a Y-DNA test can be taken to see if we have a match. I had a cousin in my line take the Y- DNA test. The best, Kathy Jo Bryant

I have a number of matches to my cousin, and we could see whether your line fits in.
What DNA testing service did you use? My husbands was tested through FTDNA. He has a null factor which places him into Clan Colla. Just curious.
Hi Gyniss,
I also used family Tree DNA for Y-DNA testing..
