New to WikiTree--Excited and Intimidated!

Question

Luckily, I found the "How to use WikiTree" page pretty quick!

I happened upon WikiTree this morning and knew I had to sign up.  I love the concept of one tree. That is one of the things I found so confusing about Ancestry dot com ... having, for example, my grandfather listed in so many different trees, with different information.

I crave order, especially with this type of information.

I am a novice at genealogy and sincerely welcome any guidance anyone can offer.  I look forward to getting to know others here and learning more about our ancestry.

i find that to with ancestry but since joining this site it is so much easier the b est thing i done was sign and everyone is so helpful so welcome to the site and enjoy every minute

also because its one tree you dont feel you are alone in getting resources and things as when you join with another relative all the hard work has been done their end

I find all that very confusing too. I love the consistency of wikitree-one profile for each person. If you love order you are in the right place. The people here are amazing, you will love it and we got you !

Hi Lesle, I too think one tree at wikitree is wonderful and absolutely "despise" those hundreds of Ancestry trees, with different and wrong information. Wikitree isn't perfect, but many of us are striving hard to get it right.

Welcome - no intimidation involved, and even after several years, I'm still excited about the next genealogical puzzle I get to solve.
