Errors and warnings in profiles (should include ADD)

In the statement on the Profile - Error Report, should it also include the phrase "click Status, add it, and " , so as to remind PM's to do so ?  after correction.

Errors and warnings in profiles related to  (a profile).

Errors are recalculated every Monday, so after correcting an error, click Status, add it, and it will disappear on Monday next.

Attention deficit disorder. Yep.

The instructions should probably be fleshed out a bit more. I would suggest something like this

Errors are recalculated every Monday; corrected errors will disappear on the next report (there may be exceptions).

After you correct an error, click the "Status" button, enter your WikiTree ID (if necessary), select the appropriate status, enter a comment to explain your correction, then click the "Add" button.

It's a bit wordy, but we should be providing complete instructions to avoid confusion.

I am with you Eddie. Reading help pages gives me ADD.
Perhaps mixing in an occasional visual aid could be helpful.

A little variety to break up the monotony - especially for my posts!!

"Errors are recalculated every Monday, so after correcting an error, it will disappear on Monday."

This is a true and correct statement.  Whether you set the status of the error or not, if the error is corrected, it will disappear on Monday. Setting the status is helpful for Data Doctors, but not required to clear an error.  ( I am merely attempting to be precise :-) )

The error report is not a good place for a full explanation for how to correct errors and set the status, however, it would be a good place for a link to this information which I would love to recommend.

And your English is excellent, by the way.
As a matter of fact, I didn't see anything wrong with it grammatically, either.  I don't see where it looks like the error corrected itself.  You could possibly say "after an error has been corrected"? But the syntax of the current phrase suggests that 'correcting' is being done *to* the error, not *by* the error.
I changed that line to:

Errors and warnings are recalculated every Monday. After an error has been corrected, it will disappear on Monday. You can also set status by clicking the Status button in last column and on next page you can set appropriate status.

Is that OK?

Sounds excellent Aleš. :-) You tend to leave out your "the" though.  I would write:

Errors and warnings are recalculated every Monday. After an error has been corrected, it will disappear on Monday. You can also set the error status by clicking the Status button in the last column. On the next page you can set the appropriate status.

(I also add a period after column and added "error")

We don't have The in Slovenian, So I always forget about it. And sometimes it feels like it is to many of them.

I will add them.

Or I can write it like this:

Errors and warnings are recalculated every Monday. After an error has been corrected, it will disappear on Monday. You can also set status by clicking the Status button in last column and on next page you can set appropriate status. (the the the the the the the you can put them where you want)

Thank you for the great belly laugh, Aleš!  I needed that! I wondered if it was a Slovenian thing because I have noticed many times in your writing there are no "the."  I love your solution!  Still laughing.....:-)

I know English is not your native language, Aleš, which is why I provided my input to improve the clarity in this area of apparently little concern by my fellow WikiTreers.

The new wording provides clear information and instructions for the page's use. Well done, everyone!!
Thank you Aleš, et al - for your comments - -

I was trying to make it a little easier for new PM's (others) , succinct , in what they might expect in the following pages, but to click the ADD button - - cheers - ja
Thank you for your suggestion John :-)

Suggestion: What is added in the Status box also appears in the Change log of the profile? With a reference to the Error the comment is related to....

Good genealogy should have good change management so the reader of the profile understands why and when changes has been done... and what sources was used....

Thank you Lindy a useful suggestion for all wikitree members. Frequently come across profiles where errors have been fixed but status not update. Would save time for the data_doctor team.
