Thank You for Error Report!

Question

After all the complaints about Error Reports, I just wanted to say that it helped me make a correction on a really stupid typo - 1885 instead of 1855 for a birth year.  The error report caught the mistake that I made last week.  The wrong birth date of the child made her born after the mother's death.  It is best to keep these mistakes taken care of quickly.  Thanks to the team for this great tool.  Cherry

The most useful tool to help avoid those sorts of errors is Wikitree-X, the app you can use with Chrome.  Since it strips the information directly from the source, errors are minimized.  If the error report only listed useful errors, we'd all love it.  It's all the ridiculous errors that are annoying (no need to list the numerous examples here).

The error report can be a great tool to help manage and edit a profile. My reservation is when resolving the error (which may not be an error at all) becomes an end in itself, rather than improving the profile, particularly when the resolution is at the expense of sound research and analysis.
