John Moore who came to the Americas in 1680

I have a problem with multiple families that I am trying to unwind.

My reterence is the  OBITUARY RECORD OF YALE GRADUATES 1925-1926 BULLETIN OF YALE UNIVERSITY.

The deceased is Louis Frederic Burchard.

Mentioned in the obit is Thomas William Charles (W C) Moore, "not" the civil war Thomas W C Moore. This Thomas was born in Nova Scotia. The obit refers to him being a descendant of John Moore, who came to this country from London in 1680 and settled at Charleston, S C , moving to Philadelphia, Pa., between 1687 and 1690.

I am trying to connect the dots. Thomas married Emeline Lockman and is I believe, is buried at the Trinity Church Graveyard in lower Manhatten.

Can anyone help me connect the dots...........Thank you, Rich Luttrell

Rich, We may be looking for the same Moore Family.   My 2xGreat Grandfather was John Moore.  He was born in 1796 in  Sudsbury,  Chester County PA. or Lancaster CO.  (One particular piece of Moore Land was in BOTH counties).  I do not know who his parents are., Several names have been put forward  but I have not been able to PROVE anything and in fact have found several "facts" that seem to disporve ALL of them.   My brother's DNA in J/M172 which seems to eliminate  the decsendants of Andrew Moore.    I know that there were  several individuals named John Moore in the correct time period to be the father or Grandfather of my J. M.

Mine married  Susanna /Susan  Lowery in 1827, Zanesville  OH.

The Federal Census that are definately this John Moore (wife and family named) always have his birthdate as 1796 and state as Pennsylvania.

(One researcher has him born in 1798 and dying in 1847 in Ohio but my John & family are in 1850 Census in Falls, Muskingum , Ohio.)

  Found in Ohio's census beginng 1830 to 1850 .

Sons named  Abraham,  William Henry, John Hestein.

Daughters Sarah, Mary J.,  Margaret, Cynthia.

it is not at all uncommon for people in this family to use middle names rather than first name. So my John may not actually be named John.

One of the Moore families went to Canada. and I believe had a son named John.

If any of this sounds like it might link up please let me know.  I have spent so many YEARS   trying to unlock this wall.
