If there's no underlying issue you need to address, Barb, and all you want to do is stop the link to your WikiTree compact family tree from appearing when others find you at GEDmatch, here's how you can do it:

On the main GEDmatch page after you log in, on the left and down the page a bit is an item labeled "EDIT or DELETE your DNA resource profiles." Don't be frightened of the terminology! Click that; scroll down to see a table labeled "Your raw DNA kits."

On the line that shows your primary kit number you'll see, at the far right, a button labeled "Select." Click that, and then click "Edit" at the bottom of the table. Look for the section that contains "WikiTree Link." Select "Disable" and then "Save Changes." Voila! You're done!

The page has the information on how to disable WikiTree links on Gedmatch. The instructions on that page tell how you can continue showing your DNA test and Gedmatch ID on WIkiTree and continue having your DNA test on Gedmatch, but eliminate the link from Gedmatch to WikiTree.

Could have saved myself some typing, huh? I'll never learn....
Thanks for this -- I was looking for ways to temporarily unlink mine, as my full GEDcom is up on GEDMatch, but my Wikitree is such a work-in-progress, it's extremely, misleadingly lop-sided!

I think if you delete it from your profile here on WikiTree the next time the sharing of into takes place (which I think is once a day) it might make it disappear on gedmatch the following day.

I am not sure but I would try that.

Hey Barb,

I see that your DNA test information has been removed from your profile as suggested by Laura - which is the best, fastest, right thing to do if there is some problem.

Would you mind explaining what the problem is? If you would rather discuss this privately please PM me. I am very interested to know if we need to look at something from the DNA Project side of things.

Just a note for you, to help facilitate matching GEDmatch is a very good choice.
