Samuel Buell and Deborah Griswold had a daughter Deborah Buell, born in 1665 who married Nathaniel Porter in 1700, according to George E. McCracken in an article in The American Genealogist, Vol 54, pages 71-72. She has a profile on WikiTree: Buell-326. This profile (Buell-108) for the wife of Simon Newcomb, also claims to be the daughter of Samuel Buell and Deborah Griswold, with the same birth and death dates. Several comments on this Buell-108 profile indicate skepticism about her parentage. I believe that Buell-108 should be detached from Samuel Buell and Deborah Griswold.

Buell-108 was not dtr of Samuel Lothrop. His probate information lists his legatees, (added to his profile) there is no Deborah.

I checked for a will for Samuel Buell (1720) and his wife Deborah (1719) - nothing at Ancestry. I also checked for Samuel's father William and Deborah's father Edward Griswold. No mention was made of grandchildren.

Logically, Deborah (Buell ? ) Newcomb, who married in Edgartown, Massachusetts, wouldn't be the daughter of Samuel Buell of Windsor and Killingworth, Connecticut.

HIst of Windsor https://archive.org/stream/historygenealogi02stil#page/620/mode/2up Says Nathaniel Porter m. Deborah Bush but earlier https://archive.org/stream/historygenealogi02stil#page/126/mode/2up it says Deborah Buel m. Nathaniel Porter

Based on the known sources, including the TAG article, she should be detached.

The biography already specifically mentions the other parents and includes links so the "theory" wouldn't be lost by detaching her in case someone layer can put forth a credible source for re-attaching her.

Might be a good idea to alert the profile manager(s) first to get their input.

Were the profile managers notified when I posted this question? I thought posting this question alerted everyone with the listed tags as well as the profile managers. (I forgot to add the PGM tag, but will do that now)
Kay only the managers of Buell-108 will have been notified. And eventually next Weds. the trusted list should get it in their Weekly Family Feed
