im trying to find a specific William McWilliams, please?

Question

Scottish Immigrant, settled in SE North Carolina-Married into the Faison Plantation family (Faisons) in Sampson County, NC... the surname was eventually shortened to Williams, and is supposedly the first of my family (on that side) to come to America...The closest links I have are Dr Egbert Persis Williams of Stedman, NC, in the late 1800s...any help would be greatly appreciated..

Can you indicate a time frame at all? Birth year, marriage year, and death year can be helpful info to track down particular individuals.

thats where it all falls down, you see....I have only the name, and the fact that he married into the Faisons...I have no idea of how many generations between William McWilliams and Dr Persis Williams...It might possibly be late 1700s, early 1800s...Dr Persis Williams built a house in Stedman NC in 1900, and I have definite info from then on. I just dont really know where to look...thanx...

There is a william McWilliams who lived in Town of Stamford, NY died 24 Oct 1859 of consumption. Age 55. His wife was Deborah. 3 of their 4 children died in 1863, only David survived.

In 1863 William P. McWilliams died 26 July 1863, age 11 -8-0

Frances A. McWilliams died 29 July 1863, age 7 - 2 - 0

John Smith McWilliams died 2 august, 1863 age 17 - 0 - 14
