You can download your records as a gedcom for your own future use, but you cannot remove them from Wikitree.

It looks at though you have been contributing for a while. Has something changed to make you decide to leave?

In another G2G, Douglas expresses frustration about the limits in gedcom import size.

Maybe the expected revamp of the import process would make it easier for him to contribute his information.
Do we know yet when the new import process will be made available?
Soon hopefully. We're doing some revisions but it's looking good.
Beside the frustration of having  problems up loading  my family ged com files   last time I gave up and typed for two solid week entering  the families of 21 children and their descendants  directly

this time however all my information is on an excel file  there are   close to 10,000  names   I am not going to enter them  one family at a time

I chose to do one letter  beginning at  A   and create  ged.com file  but  did not think to count and the children and  off side family members  so I exceed the 500  limit .....     frustrated  I am   .  for sure    so If I want to stay in the  500 limit   where do I stop ....  should I  omit the children,  the parents, the brothers  the sisters,   do I leave the  family just hanging there  ........    so far  in al my dealing with Wiki tree I have had very  few duplicates   and some of those I have had were from people  using  information from my original ged.com      .....
For me, one of the biggest benefits of importing a gedcom has come from maintaining the connections between generations (and with siblings) that had worked out when I added the people in genealogy software. (When a family uses the same first names over and over, it's way too easy to get individuals mixed up, so once I've gotten them properly sorted in one place, I want them to stay sorted when I add them to WikiTree.)

If your existing data is in an Excel spreadsheet and you are importing alphabetical groups, rather than groups based on branches on your family tree, it seems to me that you miss out on that benefit of a Gedcom. And I can imagine that the parsing functions in the tool you  use to convert from .xls to .ged format and in the WikiTree Gedcom import system might not be effectively interpreting your data. If I were you, I'd try sharing a sample of your spreadsheet data (in both .xls and .ged format) with the WikiTree team so they can test it with their new protocols for working with Gedcoms.
