I have in my possession the NYGBR articles entitled "English Origins of the Mitchell, Wood, Lum, and Halstead Families" Vol. 120, #1, dated January 1989.
According to this source, Edmund Wood who was the husband of Alyce Edwards, Janet (Jenet) Hurst and Margret Heard (Heird) had only 3 children:
1) John, probably baptized March 22, 1583/4. m. Dorothy Moakson. d. bef. 27 May 1618. children: Susan bap 17 Jun 1610; John bap 4 Oct 1612; Mary bap. 9 Apr 1615.
2) Edmund, b. about 1585 - 1590. m. Martha Lome (Lum, Lumme). children: Martha bap 8 Apr 1612; Jonas bap 18 Sep 1614; Susan(nah) bap. 23 Mar 1616; Jeremiah bap 6 Jan 1619/20; Timothy bap 14 Jul 1622.
3) Susan b. about 1590. m. (1st) Thomas Butterfield. m. (2nd) Matthew Mitchell. children: Samuel Butterfield b. abt 1612; unnamed child Butterfield b. about 1614; Abigail Mitchell bap 26 Apr 1618; David Mitchell bap 14 Nov. 1619; Sarah bap 14 Oct. 1621; Martha bap 26 Oct 1623; Jonathan bap 19 Dec 1624; Susan bap 14 Oct 1627; Matthew bap. 5 Jul 1629; Hannah bap 26 Jun 1631.
However, attached as children of Edmund Wood-5596 is also Humphrey, Grace, and Thomas, whom I propose to detach.
Additionally, Edmund Wood-5596 has parents attached: Richard Wood Jr. and Margaret (Ambler) Wood. More research is needed here. Who were the children of Richard Wood and his wife Margaret Ambler? Was one of them Edmund Wood-5596? Or another Edmund Wood?
