Merging Profiles

There is a page with some basic information about already in existence on WikiTree (rivers-459) started by another family member.  Should I merge these profiles or how should I deal with this?  I look forward to a early reply.

So there are two profiles that represent you? They need to be merged, but there may be complications when you merge your registered-member profile with the existing profile. You might need to request advice from the WikiTree Team -- see Help:WikiTree Team for contact information.

You also should contact the family member who started the other profile for you to let them known that you want to merge the profiles.

Looking at the two profiles the earlier one contains more visible information than the one you created.  Because this is you and the data is reflecting info on a living person you should have some say over what is visible and what is not visible.  But I can see where if you do the merge what is in the other profile is going to be kept unless you agree with the other profile manager to reduce the amount of information reflected.  When you do the actual merge you get to decide what information to keep.
