James Jamieson b 1837 in Paisley.  Not found in OPRS. Several possibles in 1841 census.    Emigrated to Canada or  U.S before 1860, married in 1860 on Montreal  tp Jane Irving, also from Scotland.   Said to have been orphaned  and brought up by family (grandparents ?)..  

Worked as a dairy farmer and later a machinist . He was trained in Scotland and later worked as a machiinnist in the CPR locomotive shops.

I have all children's  names etc.  as they are great and uncles..

Thanks. . Yes I have visited his grave many times.    He was my   great grandfather.  My father was raised in the house his grandfather died in.

It is the Scottish side I am stuk on.
The reason I suggested profiles for his siblings and/or family members is because I can than narrow down the possibilities and find the correct Scotland census records.  There are a lot of James Jamiesons to search through and a few more related names would help to do a comparison.  I don't want to send you information that is wrong or you may already have.
