I believe if you compare the two John Blackstone Jr and John Blackstone Sr census for 1820 you will see this isn't father and son they are talking about, Thanks..

I have a few instances in my family tree where the jr and sr were an uncle and nephew living in the same area.  The father and the son did not have the same first name,

Thanks Jane Dyment this makes of good knowledge to know, I can relate to this. Seems they are just two years between them, the one if James Pope Blackstone is his father the other one would be his younger brother I'm going to add it like this and see if it draw's any attention to any Blackstone researcher's,

Have a great day.
Donnie: So, when James Pope was KIA in GA, how did his sons end up in SC? Did James Pope live in SC and ended up fighting and dying in GA? Is it possible that both sons had John in their name? Could one be yours and one be mine? All my distant cousin DNA matches seem to show common heritage from the 1700 Argyle Blackstone's, but, as I have been researching, James John Pope would appear to be a likely candidate for my line? Going backward, I cannot reliably get beyond John and Malissa in 1850 census living in Cobb County, GA, both claiming to be born circa 1812 in SC.
This part of SC is very close to the Georgia line and it’s possible John was used it seems to have been used twice on other Blackstone being born both claiming 1812 they may be twins I don’t know, I see they liked Alabama, Georgia and South Carolina, I can’t find information on your John Blackstone 1850 or my John Blackstone after 1840 my Mary was head of house with her children 1850. I match them in Georgia I do know I took 23andme I don’t know a lot of my research is handed down but I look it over  often I just can’t get anywhere but what needs to be done is see on an 1820 census of John Pope Blackstone we need to see if he had a child under 10 that would make a spot for you John Blackstone, also dose any of your line have any names that would be a clue of a line. One of these Blackstone men may have had two wife’s or something like another Blackstone that we can’t find I believe I seen a Thomas Blackstone on the 1810 census in Pickens SC they are also a Pickens Georgia I live on mile marker 31 out of Georgia closer to Greenville then to Anderson County which after you go though Anderson you in Georgia I see a lot of the family left after the civil war went to Georgia and on to Alabama and Texas Hannah Longstreet Blackstone Riddle daughter of Richard Blackstone born abt. 1791? In SC is also our line Richard they said had a brother named John living close to him and a Judith Blackstone I believe you can find all three of John, Richard and Judith living in Pickens SC at one time it was said that my John and Richard was brothers and Judith maybe the mother. I’m so confused with these Blackstone/Blackston’s but I’m like you I can’t give up, I’m thankful for your help maybe we can find out something,
