I am looking to further my information on Patrick Flinn/Flynn born 1792 in Kingstown, Ireland.  He married Mary Jane 0'Keefe b1793 and his son Micheal Henry Flynn b1832 in Kingstown at St Michael's is my husbands great grandfather.  I believe Mary Jane died in Ireland and the family moved to the US.  Michael Henry, Henry as he became known  moved to the US along with his father and siblings, married Anne Lynch in Rochester, NY and  eventually setteled in PA having workied on the Railroad his whole career.

I have Patrick Flinn/Flynn and family  in the 1855 Census in Herkimer, NY, 1860 in Chemung Co, NY, 1870 in Wilkes Barre, PA and then in the 1880 C in Alleghany, PA.

I am traveling to Dun Laoghaire in a couple of weeks and have reached out twice through email to St. Michael's parish with no response.  I was hoping to add to Patrick Flynn's information and gather further family information in the church records.

Does anyone have any advice for me on how to see if I can find more information on this family in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland?

Thank you kindly,

Kelly Gilligan

I doubt whether the parish will have more than is on-line at http://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0523 and that goes back to 1768. Especially as the church Michael was baptised in burnt down in 1965.

I presume your Michael is the one baptised on 23rd April 1832 - http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633806#page/73/mode/1up and his parents were married on 10th September 1822 - http://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633807#page/8/mode/1up.

Thank you very much John. I appreciate your information and links. I have the two documents you provided. Those were the only two I could find on the Flinn/Flynn family.  Would you happen to know where the people were buried for this church?  Also, have you ever heard of Miraculous Springs Well?  I have a family note that says that Patrick Flinn/Flynn's wife, Mary Jane O'Keefe died there but knowing there are many around Ireland I was wondering if one was close by to Kingstown.

Thank you,

Kelly
I'm afraid I can't help with the well or the cemetery - although I did work in Dun Laoghaire 15 years ago.

Patt and Mary were listed as being from Cabinteely when they married. John (1823) & Patt (1826) were born there. Michael was born at Glassdoole as was Andrew (1835). Findmypast is the best place to search the registers without paying.
