Spouse not showing in profile view [closed]

Question

This person's spouse shows in edit mode, and she shows in his profile in edit mode but neither show on the others profile in Profile view (private or public)

I am helping this new user but I am stumped with this one.

It has to do with the fact that Lela's husband has a private privacy setting. I can't see him in edit mode or view mode.

If the Profile manager makes Whitehead-3101 public or Private with Public tree that should have the marriage show hopefully.

Private with public tree won't do it either - only open or public.

Alternate explanation:

The marriage may be deliberately set not to be displayed on the profiles.

The profile manager may have checked the box on the Edit Marriage page to prevent the marriage from being displayed on the couple's profiles.

Yes.  Since the OP can get into Edit mode, it's not a permissions issue.

Anne's answer is correct.  When a profile is open or public then the spouses will show on the public view, as well as the private view, and in edit mode.

Otherwise, the spouses will only show on private view and edit mode, both of which can only be seen by members of the trusted list.

Lindy's answer is about how to not display the spouses on public and private views for all profiles - even open or public.

Sorry but that does not make Anne's answer the correct one as I stated that I was able to see the private view and therefore her reasoning did not apply in this case. The answer I selected WAS the reason I could not see the marriage and therefore IS the best answer.

I accept that Anne's statement applies when one does not have access to the private view, but I did and stated that fact. Lindy's reply answered the question about why I could not see the marriage.

This was not a general question about how information is displayed on WikiTree.
