give back a badge? [closed]

Since I have found no ancestors who are related to Mayflower people, and have no time to work the project, should I give back the Mayflower badge and have it removed from my profile?

If removing the badge is the way to go, what is the procedure?

Hi Cheryl, I gave back a badge. I'd joined a project and then discovered that it wasn't quite my cup of tea, and didn't want to work on it, so contacted the leader and just asked to have the badge removed.

Hi Cheryl,

I never heard of badges being taken away except in rare circumstances a project coordinator or pre-1500 badge. If I may suggest I would try staying with the project you may still be able to help out someway. Try contacting the project coordinator. If you truly want to leave the project you can contact the Leader of the project who I believe is Becky Syphers

Hi Steve,

I'm not talking about a badge being "taken away" but of "giving it back."  I've had the project badge for over 2 years and have yet to do anything to promote the project.  To tell you the truth, I feel a bit guilty when I see it on my home/personal profile.

Please understand that I don't have any dislike for the Mayflower Project, just not enough hours in the day to work on it.  I am contributing several hours most days to another project in which I have great interest, as well as a few other project where I work occasionally.

I've asked myself the same thing because I joined some projects when I first came to WT in my eagerness and haven't participated.  But I decided to hang on to them for a little bit longer because I might shift my interest that way a few months down the road.
