I have a merge which is now ready to complete with both LNABs as UNKNOWN in large caps. I plan to do one last search for the correct name, but if I am unsuccessful should I merge into the lowest UNKNOWN or give a new LNAB of Unknown? If anyone knows the correct LNAB for this profile (married name Mitchler), that would be excellent to find out too!

Hang in there and wait to see if you get more input. I think the right way Is Unknown.

Hi Gillian,

If 2 profiles represent the same person I would do the merge down to the lowest unknown that matches. This would remove a duplicate. However if there is any chance you are unsure of the match I would suggest doing a unmerged match noting the reason you spoke above.
