How to Compare gedcoms profile's to wiktree profiles

Question

I have currently 8 different Gedcoms on my computer. What would be the best way to extract the profiles from there so I can compare what I and others have put onto the wikitree Tree. A few of the gedcoms already have duplicates inside them already which doesn't help.

I want to try and work out where I am missing links, Who I need to find sources for and who I have to add information for on my gedcoms by seeing the sources I have discovered when being on here. 

What I don't want to do is upload the gedcoms onto wikitree as I don't want to mistakenly add duplicates to Wikitree.  

Any suggestions?

You could download a free program such as RootsMagic that will enable you to view the GEDCOM's in a tree format to then compare. :)

The best way would be to use the Wikitree suggestion reports and other functionality to find your missing links then compare each profile individually to the relevant ones of the 8 trees you have on your computer.

WikiTree's current Gedcom import process is a two-step process

1. Gedcom compare -- here we compare your gedcom with what's already in WikiTree and you can mark to skip those that are duplicate, etc.
2. Gedcom import approval -- after completing the comparison step above, it goes into an approval phase, where a WikiTree leader takes a cursory look before allowing the new profiles to be added to WikiTree

In between steps one and two, you can delete the uploaded file(s) and start over, without any actual changes to WikiTree yet.

You can do step one as many times as you wish, with as many different gedcom files as you have.
