I have been told Elizabeth Ann Hopkinson married John Yorke in Sheffield.

She certainly appears to have married a John York (no 'e') but can you tell us how to identify which John York(e) is your great-grandfather? What is your descent from him? If the person who told you is relying on family memories then yes but if they just stuck John York into ancestry and found a matching marriage then its less likely.

Based on the following information, and locations for other members of her family, I would say the probability is extremely high.

Birth Record  Ordsall is part of Retford.

1881 Census His wife was born in Retford
