I created a child Bignell-355, how to delete this profile.

I found on Family Search a child William, for Mary Hume-269 and William Bignell, I created a profile for the child Bignell-355, but on reading circumstances of the parents lives am confused on whether there was a child. I edited the mother and removed the child, HOW to now delete profile for Bignell-355?

Profiles of ancestors are never deleted.  If you created a non-existent person (I have created ones before and found them to be duplicates of a sibling), you can merge it with a sibling, but if this child has no siblings, then where did the child come from?  Is it a child of someone else?  Can it be assigned to the correct parents?  Maybe someone can help you to research this further.

(I have also have a child on a profile that I am pretty sure belongs to other parents.  I have kept it attached with a note for now because they do show up in a census record together, but I will research this child until I find the correct parents--if possible.)
