If my Gedcom from Ancestry was too big to upload, will the Gedcom changes, announced today, make any difference?

Hi Chris,

I'm sorry to say it will not.

We may be able to bump up the limits a bit, but as of now they're unchanged. We can only handle a GEDCOM with up to 5,000 people. More than that and 1.) it's a burden on our system that searches for matches, and 2.) the GEDCOMpare table would be unwieldy for you, and at some point, completely unusable.

Many thanks, but if the limit is 5,000, mine was less than 2,000 and wouldn't work. Was it because there were also pictures and scans? I'm transferring it gradually but can't attach the sources as there are too many for the limited time I have.
