How do I get any info from a notice that appears posted info about my surname?telling me that someone has

I was notified that someone had posted info about  aperson with the surname  I was interested in but when I click on it  there is no info listed. What good does it do to tell me that there is new info available for that surname if I can't see it. I'm sorry,I'm new at this and haven't learned ho

In 2g2 or on your message board on your profile page, did you receive a notice from someone saying they had more information on your family?  If you received a message from someone on your profile board, there should be a link back to the profile of the person who wrote the message.  Follow the link to the other's profile and then send a private message.  The email addresses are privately set by wikitree.  By sending a private message, you are able to contact the person who has the info. If on 2g2 though, if the person who leaves a message saying they have info and then sgns in as anonymous, there would be no way of contacting them unless they leave a email address on their message.

Hi Barbara and Welcome to WikiTree.  I'm not sure exactly what is going on.  Can you post either the message or the profile ID for the person?

Often when you get a notification about a profile change but the changes entry is empty it is because they edited something associated with the profile, like marriage details, which do not show as text in the profile itself. It could also be caused by the user clicking save by mistake without actually editing anything.
