Inline citation not showing as a footnote [closed]

Hello,

I am having an issue with in line citations. 

On Sarah Middlebook Beach   Middlebrook-213, I have tried putting all of the source citations that are on that page in line, but all I get is a number and no foot note.

The citation I wanted to add is as below:

McClaughry, Charles C. "Genealogy of the Beach family of Connecticut." Archive.org. Accessed September 2, 2017.[https://archive.org/details/genealogyofbeach00mccl] page 242

I am having the same problem adding a citation to her husband Nehemiah Beach Beach-3349

Beach, Nehemiah in "Connecticut Births and Christenings, 1649-1906," database, [https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:F7WY-DYV/ FamilySearch] : 3 December 2014, Nehemiah Beach, 18 May 1750; citing ; FHL microfilm unknown.

I have not had any problem on any of my other profiles. It just seems strange to me that these two won't take.

Hi Julia.  There don't appear to be any inline citations in those two profiles right now.  The type of problem you describe is almost always caused by <ref> and </ref> tags not being paired correctly (often a missing </ref>) or by a missing <references/> tag right after the Sources header.  I'd suggest you try it again and pay close attention to those things.  If you still have a problem, leave the inline citations in the profiles and post here again.  Someone will be able to figure it out.

Thank you Dennis, it was a matter of the <reference/> not being present. Something I didn't pick up on! Believe you me I tried every which way to make the in line work!

The profile was missing this line

<references/>

It should be below the == Sources == line.

I have added it.
