Could there be West Prussian roots for Ewald Georg 'Guy' Schulz?

Schulz and Schultz are fairly common names, but I have relatives by that name who lived in the village of Riesenkirch, West Prussia, around the early part of the 1800s.  Has anyone made a Schulz connection between the US and Germany?  There were also Schulz families who had emigrated from Germany, living in Grey County, Ontario, Canada while I was growing up there during the 1950s.  If anyone knows about a connection, it might be from anywhere in the West Prussian territory known as Marienwerder (not the city, but surrounding it).  Villages such as Garnsee, Saubersdorf, Nogath, Freystadt, Bichdorf or Neudorfchen all lie in that area.  Other family names from these towns are Krupp, Volkmann, Bluhm, Hoeft, Moehnke, Manz and Fischer are common in that area.  Any additional information would be appreciated.
