Daniel MOORE is my 3rd great grandfather. Supposedly his parents were John Moore and Elizabeth Grove.** The only possibility I can find for Elizabeth Grove is the daughter of George and Mary Ferree Grove. I wonder if anyone has established which MOORE Elizabeth married? And if so, do you have details? Thanks so much!

Do you have any dates or locations for Daniel, John, or Elizabeth?

Thanks, Saundra. My apologies for not being more specific with dates and locations. I realized my error after I posted but didn't have time to come back to add the details.

Daniel MOORE was born about 1790 possibly in/near what is now Nelson County, KY. By 1837 if not before, he lived in Mary Ann Township, Licking County, OH. He and family moved to Rock Island and then on to Mercer County, IL in 1840. His Administration Bond was filed in May 1861 in Licking County, OH.

John MOORE was born about 1767. He perhaps married Elizabeth GROVE (Graf) about 1787 either in Frederick, MD or Hagerstown, MD. A John Moore was living in Nelson County, VA (now KY) in 1789 [Certificate Book of the Virginia Land Commission]. A John Moore was living in Mary Ann Township, Licking County, OH at least by 1837 and likely earlier.

Elizabeth GROVE (Graf) was born 1767 in Lancaster, PA supposedly to George and Mary nee' Ferree Graf. George died 1778 in Frederick, MD while a prisoner of war during the Revolutionary War. His wife then married Griffith WILLETT 1783. They and family moved to Nelson County, KY and died there Griffith in 1841 and Mary in 1831.

Hope this helps! Thanks so much for any assistance.
Griffith Willett had a plantation in Virginia which became Nelson, Kentucky when Kentucky was formed.  They had quite a few slaves.

I found a John George Graff, Jr.   b. 4 Jul 1744 in Lancaster, PA  who married a Mary Elizabeth and gave birth to Elizabeth Margaret in Lancaster on 18 Sep 1781.  But this would be too late to be the Mary Grove who married Griffith Willett in 1783.

I can find no John Moore living in Nelson, Kentucky who married an Elizabeth Graff/Grove.

Sorry I couldn't have been more help.
Thanks Saundra for your help.

Actually the Mary who married Griffith Willett was born a FERREE. Her first husband was George Graf (sp. var.). However, the Elizabeth Margaret born 1781 in Lancaster may be the right Elizabeth to have married John Moore. Would you please send me your source(s) for her?

Also, where did you look for John Moore of Nelson County, KY? No need for me to 'reinvent the wheel' as I continue my research.

Thanks again!
