Needed help with a direct ancestor

Question

I have fruitlessly requested information for the past year pertaining to my 3rd g-grandfather John Marsh, b. 1794 to my 4th g-grandfather Jonathan Marsh married to Mary Day from New Jersey.  I can find no records of John's birth or any other connection to his parents other than IGI, family trees and Pedigree information.

I am a direct male descendant of my immigrant 8th g-grandfather Samuel Marsh, b.1620, married to Comfort Mann and immigrated here in 1641.

I have received my SAR through my grandmother instead of through my direct Marsh lineage due to the lack of information (or my Brick wall) on recorded data for John Marsh who by the way married Catharine Leavell.

Ironically, I have an old DAR application #A074205, for my 5th G-grandfather John Marsh married to Nancy Searing who was a private in the New Jersey Militia. The SAR will not accept this app due to date and it is through a cousin that does not follow my main direct line.

So, does anyone have any information for me or an avenue or resource whereby I can find this information. I would like to apply for a direct descendant of a colonial ancestor as well as re-apply for my SAR through my direct line.

I see that you have John Marsh as passing away around 1855, but this is an interesting census record. It may not be applicable, but this John Marsh was born in Virginia circa 1792-1794 and alive in Indiana in 1870.

I'm not sure if I buy into this record, but it's the closest 1850 Census I could find...

This one might be his wife in 1850, but it would mean that she was in New Albany, Indiana at the time of the Census, separate from John.

Note there were several other 1850 Census entries too, but none that I could find in Cass.
