Does anyone know if Nina is a nickname for another name

I am trying to add/research/complete some Sturdivant research.  My mom has a "Nina Flo" Huddleston, (child of a female Sturdivant) but no other info as far as her name.  I cannot find anything on Wiki for just "Nina", "Nina Flo" or even "Florence".

Thought I would check for nicknames before adding her while I see if I can find anything else.

Thanks.

Well, "hells bells"!!  Please pardon the expression.  If I don't ask a question, I hunt for HOURS!  I ask the question, go to ancestry and, voila, she is the first person to come up, as Nina Flo!  Bonus, found out who she was married to and when she died.

Why isn't it all as easy?  I only posted the question about nicknames three minutes ago!

Thank you! :)

I live near a Slavic community, and so I know that  Nina comes from an old Slavic word, which means dreamer, so they use the word as a descriptive word, that "the child is a NIna".   Then the child gets called Nina alot.
