Invalid ID-numbers when awarding family star

Question

I tried to add a family star to my brother (Van Der Walt-256) with the text: "For a very deserving devoted and inspiring genealogist, researcher, teacher, father, husband, brother - many thanks! ... my jongste klein boetie, nou die slimste van ons almal - Baie dankie. Liefde, Philip." However, I keep on getting the notification that his wiki-id is invalid (even though I've checked and made sure that it is correct).

try it again, but use underscores instead of spaces: Van_Der_Walt-256

I've found that WikiTree doesn't care for multi-word IDs in a lot of instances (such as the ID you included that should have provided a link to your brother's profile).
