I look up my work load regularly and find it unnecessary that my approval is required where I have proposed a merge. This is stopping me getting to

William, I'm not sure what your question is.

I have found that the system's response to a merger proposal is not consistent.

Sometimes when I propose a merge (where I am one of the managers) I will directly get a screen that says "Thank you for your approval for this merge...." so I can proceed to other matters.

Other times, I get the screen that says " The approval of the managers is ... etc." In this case, if I do not want to have this merger need action by me later, it is necessary to propose the merge a second time, whereupon the approval screen shows up.

I have mentioned this before, but do not have any idea why it happens. Could be as simple as whether "my" profile is in the right or left half of the screen, just don't know.

I have had the same experience.
This has been going on for a while.  I haven't been able to nail down a pattern as yet, but in the meantime, I do suggest doubling or redoing the merge, because sometimes then it goes through, or then you get the message...approval recorded.

if the other profile manager has not approved the merger it will not be merged.  I would contact Phil and make a request to open the profile in case the manager has left wikitree or has expired.

Once he checks it, he will contact you so the profile can be merged.

I as well have had the same issue but not very often.

You didn't by chance adopt some of the profiles did you?

This is an answer to Toby's question about the two different types of merge responses he sees:

Toby, when you see this:

"Thank you for your approval for this merge...."

This means that you requested a merge from a profile of which you are manager.

When you see this:

" The approval of the managers is ... etc."

That means that you are NOT a profile manager of either profile.

That's the difference.

No, Jilliane,

My point is that sometimes when I AM the manager, the screen that show up is the "The aproval of the managers..." screen, and only by initiated the merger a second time is my approval noted by the system.
Ditto.  This does happen regularly.  When "I AM a MANAGER".
Wow. Got it. Haven't seen that happen to me yet. Definitely need a look-see by the Powers That Be.
Yes we do.
