Ruth C. Westcott b. 1 June 1891/1892- looking for parents

Question

Ruth C. Westcott was recorded on the 1900 census as being born in 1892.  She was the foster-child of the Chappell family (Winfield and Mary).  This is the first record I can find of Ruth (my great grand-mother).  Her gravestone with my grandfather states she was born in 1891 and her birthday was celebrated on June 1st throughout her life.  She was married to my great-grandfather Cyrus Dixon Williams on February 22, 1911.  She died in the year 1964.  I cannot find any recorded social security number for her regarding her death. No family members know any history regarding her parents and I cannot locate any records.  Could someone please assist me with finding her biological parents records?  Thank you.

She's listed as a Grandchild..is that a possibility?  She might have been the child of a Chappel daughter, who married a Westcott man.

Hi Cindy,

I do and in the next census while it's transcribed to grandchild, if you look closer it says foster-child on the actual document.  I've also talked to grandchildren of Edith's that have completed the DNA test on ancestry and I have completed it as well.  None of us are a match unfortunately.  I've been searching my DNA matches on ancestry for months hoping to find some type of connection that way and hitting dead-ends everywhere. I appreciate your help!

I found more info regarding Ruth.  Her middle name was Catherine and I think she was actually born in 1894.  I found her social security death record with her full name and year born as 1894.  My great-grandfather was listed as her spouse, so I am sure it is her.

I also located their marriage license but she does not have any parents listed.

The 1900 census states that she was born in Rhode Island, as well as her parents.

grandaughter.Likely the Chappell"s are her mothers parents.I will look for a

Wescott marries a Chappell,you look also.

I replied above to another comment but I have already researched that possibility and it was eliminated.  I've talked to the Chappell family (grandchildren of Mary and Winfield) and also completed DNA testing on ancestry.com and they have as well.  Unfortunately, none of us are matches.  Thank you!
