Roseline Brossett Death Certificate?

Roseline Brossett was born November 3, 1876 in Cloutierville, Louisiana and died March 15, 1915 in Derry, Louisiana. She was married to Oscar Clyde Vallery (1878-1956) but I've never been able to locate a death record for her. I've perused the death records on Ancestry.com as well as on FamilySearch.org but still have come up with nothing. Her mother was Marie Lise Brossett (1841-1911) but I don't know who her father was.

It would be a huge help to me if anyone knows how to find this. I'd love to know her father's name and I figured it would be listed on there...if only I could find it.

Hi Sharon,

Unfortunately I was unable to find one for this person. I would try looking if I was you in the Louisiana Vital Records Index. If she died there it should be on record Certified copies of death certificates are delivered by mail for $5.

Hello Steve,

Hmm, I think I looked there myself and was unable to locate it. I'm sure it's there somewhere but maybe it's underneath a different name? I'm guessing that's possible but I'm not for sure...
Yes I looked myself it is possible she is under a different name
Hm, well maybe I should be trying different ways to spell it - I know sometimes names weren't always spelled the same way twice. Especially on records where different people filled them out.

I searched the cemetery where Oscar was buried.
No, that's actually his second wife, Julia Luella Bynog.

Well, I'm not sure who Rose Lackey is but I know none of my family were from Maine....

Hmmm, that very well may be her! The date is the same and since the marker is supposed to be undreadable, it's possible they mistook March for May. Wow, thanks for finding this! I might have to go there and check it out myself. And if she's buried right next to Oscar then that would definitely make it right.
