Trying to find source to confirm parents of Ann (Hubbell) Henry, B. 1813 somewhere in the US, potentially Connecticut

Question

In going through some of my remaining unsourced profiles frm my first Gedcom import months ago, I realized I do not have a source confirming my 4xgreat grandmother Ann (Hubbell) Henry's parents. I have them noted as Samuel Hubbell (B. 1772) and Elizabeth Ann (Edwards) Hubbell. However, I can't seem to find any records of these parents bar other family trees.

- Ann was born somewhere in the US. As far as I can tell, it may have been in Connecticut somewhere.

- She married in Ontario and died in Ontario, Canada.

I realize this isn't any help in your quest to establish Anne's parentage but I did notice that you have Martin Nathaniel Henry's place of death as Arkansas. His death record indicates he died in Detroit, Michigan. Unfortunately, the death certificate has no info for his parents.

OK - that is very odd! If that was put in ther eby me, it must have been a typo or a mistake. Either that or a mistake by someone else.

I'll go fix it if not already fixed.

Alright - I was confused and thought you meant Michael Nathanial and then realized you meant Martin Nathaniel..

 

May be am istake, even so. I thought I had properly traced him having moved to Arkansas, though. But I'll go back over my research to see if I missed something.

He did move to Arkansas but it appears he had children still in Michigan. It may be that he moved back to Michigan after his wife died or that he was visiting his children when he died in Detroit. He is buried with his wife in Arkansas (she died there) so that may have added to the confusion.

I had this thought after rechecking my research - he must have died in Michigan and had is body moved to Arkansas to be buried with his wife. Confusing. I'll change the place of death and add the Michigan death record to his sources.

I've seen it, but haven't had a chance to thoroughly explore it. It's quite the long book and I was having difficulties finding a way to properly jump to the genealogy bits without freezing my browser from the sheer size of it.

There is a listing for Ann in the 2017 edition of the History of the Hubbell Family.  This is the best source to which I can point.
It reads as follows:  1406 (1404) Ann 23 May 1813 - 11 Dec 1872 Riverview cem Sombra mar 1834 Michael Nathaniel Henry* 20 Dec 1832 both of Darlington
citation: Hubble, Hilbert Roland, Walter Hubbell, Harold Berresford Hubbell, and Harold Berresford Hubbell. The Millennium Edition of the History and Genealogy of the Hubbell Family. Vol. 1. United States: Hubbell Family Historical Society, 2017. Page 116
Ann is the daughter of Samuel Hubbell #542, (son of Isaac Hubbell #173 and Ann Rollins) and Elizabeth Ann Edwards (daughter of Thomas Edwards)

Hey, thanks for this! I added the source for Ann, as well as her father Samuel.

I poked around tos ee if Samuel's parents, Isaac/Ann, had been added to WikiTree yet. I noticed this Isaac you had added - is this the same Isaac? Biography doesn't mention what his wife's name was and she hasn't got a profile:

https://www.ancestry.com/genealogy/records/samuel-hubbell_29829738  while this is an ancestry tree it appears to have some sources attached.  You might want to review it and see if it supports any of your family listings.

About the Hubbell Sources in general:

That link that crashed Kirsten's browser leads to the google book's version of the "History of the Hubbell Family" by Walter Hubbell, but Eddie King has supplied the Internet Archive version of the same book which is likely more complete and more computer friendly.

Sourcing titan Rich Pierpont's Hubbell free space includes not only the various internet formats of the epic Walter Hubbell work, but also a link to a partial version of the more recently published "Hubbell Sea Captains", by Hilbert Roland Hubble (2017).

Also, for those who are in a position to purchase sources, the absolute gold standard in Hubbell sourcing is the one mentioned by Burr Hubbell called :

"The Millennium Edition of the History and Genealogy of the Hubbell Family. United States: Hubbell Family Historical Society, 2017.  by Hubble, Hilbert Roland, Walter Hubbell, Harold Berresford Hubbell, and Harold Berresford Hubbell."

This source expanded upon the previous century of Hubbell Family research and is referred to on the Hubbell Society and Museum's "Store" page as "Our new 2017 Family Genealogy" and elsewhere as "The Millenium Edition...".
