Unfortunately, we don't have separate tags for the surname Mayo and County Mayo -- just one "mayo" tag. Similarly, people with family names like England and Wales have to pick their way through a lot of geographic references to find questions about their families. I suppose it would help if people who want to tag their questions for County Mayo would include irish_roots as an additional tag, to help distinguish their questions from questions about the surname.
