How can we make it clear that the date of death is estimated?

I have recently stated using {{Estimated Date}} when I do not know the date of birth of a person on my watchlist. Is there any way that I can show that the date of death is estimated? I know that I can use "about/uncertain but non-living" but this does not make it as clear that the date of death is estimated as the {{Estimated Date}} does for the estimated birth date. I have a lot of profiles where I have no ideas when the person died. Estimating the date of death is especially difficult when all the information that I can find is that a child has been christened. I would like to make it clearer to others that a date has been estimated, but I do not know how to do it other than putting it in the biography. Am I missing something?

The template defaults to saying "Birth date," but it can be adjusted to show other dates. Unless it has changed recently, {{Estimated Date|Death}} should show the death date as an estimate. {{Estimate Date|Birth and Death}} should show both birth and death dates as estimates.

Here are the current templates available..

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:Estimated_Date

  • {{Estimated Date|Death}}
  • {{Estimated Date|Marriage}}
  • {{Estimated Date|Birth and Death}}
  • {{Estimated Date|Birth and Marriage}}
  • {{Estimated Date|Death and Marriage}}
  • {{Estimated Date|Birth Death and Marriage}}
Thank you Ellen and Jerry. That's really helpful. I have a lot of profiles that I need to add this information to. I could not find anything on the help pages.
Thanks for adding those details, Jerry!

Standard genealogical procedure is to show a "c" or "abt" in front of the date separated from the date by a space. That may require some reprogramming by WikiTree. It should have been programed that way at the beginning. Another WikiTree idiosyncrasy .
