Earnest Cramer Mobley was my Grandfather.  He was born in Georgia in the 1800's  He was well educated becoming a minister in the christain church.  He was instrumental in helping the split of the protestant church with the Stone- Campbell  movement.  He moved to Texas and preached there for some years.  Weatherford I think but eventually ended up in Oklahoma City at the First Christain Church. Expired in Enid Oklahoma in the early 50's

Thank You

United States Census, 1940  Ward 4, Enid, Enid City, Garfield, Oklahoma

Head Ernest C Mobley    M 61           Georgia  Occupation: Minister

Wife Elizabeth Mobley    F  52 Texas

Son Wallace I Mobley    M 22           Texas

Son Ben Mobley         M    20           Texas

More census data with other listed children.  Some birth certs etc.

If you search Ernest C and Elizabeth on this site you will find more.  For example, some children born in England; others in TX.  Ernest listed as born in Walnut Grove, GA.  Wife Elizabeth’s maiden name appears to be Wallace.

Thank You Chris, This is just to let you know that Grandfather's Wife was Elizabeth Irby. She was born in Texas and her father was a doctor around Weatherford Texas I think.  She attended Vassar University and graduated with a teaching degree.  She also attended some finishing school and was very prim and proper.  My Dad Wallace and her other three sons loved playing tricks on her and teasing her.  She actually was a pretty good sport about it. The first Wiford was way before his time with understanding the concept of Phones.  He accindentally fell from a hay loft and acidentally hung himself on the wires he was using to hook up a phone in their home.  Ernie developed TB and was in a sanitarium in Clinton Ok.  My Dad used to hold me up to the window so I could wave to him. My Dad was Wallace Alford Mobley.  Ben was a hippie way before the time.  His family lived in Manitou Springs Co.  Ben was responsible for painting the western murals in the Co. Springs Government offices.  All were very tall, with my Dad being the tallest at 6'7. Do you know if this is a Mobley trait?  Thanks again for your help. Judith (Bowie) Mobley Co. Springs Co
