Does anyone know David Allen Shirley?

Question

I am looking for the parents of David Allen Shirley.  He is my 3rd great-grandfather.  He was born May 22, 1810 in South Carolina and died in DeRidder, Louisiana August 10, 1892.  (at least I believe this to be correct).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

David Shirley, born 1810 in South Carolina could be the son of the David Shurly in the 1820 US Census in Darlington, SC.

David Shirley born about 1760-65 possibly in Lenoir Co NC; He appears in St Thomas Parish, Cheraws District SC in the 1790 census and then again in the 1800 and 1810 Darlington Co censuses; he died about 1810-1820 in Darlington Co SC.

married Prudence Kelly. She was born ca. 1770; She appears as head of household in 1820, 30 and 40 Darlington Co SC census. She died about 1850 in Pike Co. AL. She was daughter of James Kelly who was born about 1736 Edgecombe Co. NC and died about 1790 Darlington Co. SC

No, I'm not a Shirley descendant as far as I know, but I do like to look up answers at familysearch.org
