Profile managers not available through death, absence, or disinterest?

It is annoying to have to ask another manager for access on one's immediate ancestors.  I expect to annoy others when my full family data are added.

So far, I have been granted access.  However, what happens when the other manager(s) are not available through death, absence, new interests, or any other reason?

Hi Humphrey,

We're working on a change that would allow anyone to add themselves to the Trusted List of an Open profile. You might see that being debated in a separate G2G thread.

To answer your question, see http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Unresponsive_Profile_Managers

Chris - thank you for the merge.  The present merge policy for absent managers comes into force after six months.  That seems a long time to wait if the individual(s) is(are) crucial to the line.  Perhaps a merge manager or umpire could be invoked before then?  Or the unanswered merge flagged as provisional?
