I see this problem a lot in older profiles, so I went to both profiles just to check. Nancy's has a clear birthdate on hers, which indicates better sourcing. The putative father's profile is not sourced, and his birthdate is estimated, so the question OP is probably correct.
You see such circumstances a lot on wikitree with profiles more than 150 years old. Whoever creates the profile has scanty information about a person, other than the name and perhaps a descendant, so they create the parental profile with the name and an estimated birthdate that almost surely is incorrect, but it is the best that one can hope for, and is also a requirement to create a profile on wikitree.
Older profiles often have much less information than the newer ones, due to the running of the course of history, which makes for forgetful minds and lost documents and information. The exact birthdate may not even have been recorded at all, as detailed birth certificates and records often did not exist, especially in frontier areas.
At least you have a name and a birthplace to work with. This is not so bad, as one has to start somewhere, and the original creator of the father's profile left that behind, no doubt the best he or she could do. Work from there; run a google search and ask relatives if they know any thing, and consult S.C. record bases. You just may get lucky!
