Myrtle Straup/Stoup/Stroupe Rankin (1876-1901) parents (marriage cert)

Question

I'm trying to find information about my great grandfather's first wife, Myrtle Rankin. I believe Myrtle died in childbirth but have not found a death certificate. When he remarried they named their first child Myrtle in her honor.

I've located their marriage certificate and 1900 census record. I thought the surname was Straup, but marriage certificate is transcribed as Stroup with and without an e. Parents names transcribed as Matthias Stoup and Elizabeth Sumway, but the handwriting is pretty bad. What do you think, any ideas leading to documentation on her death or parents?  Census lists her father's birthplace as Germany.  Thanks for any info or suggestions!

From in depth search, I think Myrtle was Martha Myrtle, commonly called Myrtle, to avoid confusion with her grandmother Martha.

Thanks so much for all your help!  I always thought it was very touching that Oscar (and his second wife) named his daughter after his first wife. I remember meeting his daughter Myrtle once when I was young and she was a very kind woman. I wanted to be able to have accurate information for her namesake Myrtle in my genealogy.  

Oddly enough, this query was about my mom's side of the family, but I have Cassel ancestors on my dad's side!
