Elizabeth "Betsy" Hinkle (Hinkle-914) married Thomas Richard Nations (no profile yet) in or around 1836. Her sister Frances Adaline Hinkle (Hinkle-621) married Thomas Wesley Nations (Nations-309) in 1840. They lived near each other near Silver Lake, Perry County, Missouri. How are Thomas Richard and Thomas Wesley related to one another?

According to some family trees floating around, Thomas Richard Nations is the son of Nathan Nations and Tabitha Levisa Stevens. Nathan is the son of Joseph Nations (Nations-176) and Eleanor Robins. Joseph is the son of John "The Servant Boy" Nation (Nation-5).

According to my aunt's research, Thomas Wesley Nations is the son of John Wesley Nations (Nations-308), the son of John Nations (Nations-433), the son of William Nation (Nation-345). It was assumed by other family members that William Nation was the brother of John "The Servant Boy" Nation. However, John's brother William died in 1701 before the age of 1.

Since "The Servant Boy" story was passed down through my line as well, I wonder if John Wesley also descends directly from John "The Servant Boy" -- perhaps also through Joseph?

And so, I need help finding out how Thomas Richard Nations and Thomas Wesley Nations are related.

Thank you in advance.

don't think they are related. it looks like Thomas r was an only child.

Thomas w was the child of john nations and Judith Hensley.

Thomas r is the child of Nathan nations and Tabitha stevens. looks like he was born in cape Girardeau while T W was born in perry. hope this helps.

I may have found the connection. I stumbled across this site: http://www.nationstudy.com/index.php. (Not sure how I missed it in all of my previous searching.

It has a tree connecting the Thomases as first cousins once removed. It also connects my line into John "The Servant Boy" Nation.

I need to check the sources on the site. Will keep you posted.

Thanks.
